Not where some treatment protocol thinks you should be. Where you actually are right now, with all the complexity and messiness that comes with being human.

Then comes curiosity

Why does food feel overwhelming? What's happening when you avoid eating? How does your ADHD show up around meals? What textures are absolute no-go zones? What food rules are ED-based versus your brain trying to stay regulated?
step 3

This is collaborative

Which means no lectures about nutrition while you nod politely. You're the expert on your body and your experience. Education about nutrition and neurodivergence and eating disorders gets shared. Together, you figure out what makes sense for your life.

The stuff nobody says out loud

"Can I really heal my relationship with food with ADHD/ autism/ OCD?"
Yes. Full recovery might look different for you than for neurotypical folks, but you absolutely can heal your relationship with food and your body.
"Will you give me a meal plan?"

Not a rigid one.
If meal plans worked for neurodivergent brains, you wouldn't be here. Flexible strategies get built that can adapt when executive function decides not to show up.
"Are you going to weigh me?"

Not unless it's medically necessary and you consent.
Your weight isn't how progress gets measured here.
"What if I can only eat safe foods right now?"

Then that's where you're at, and it's okay. "Food variety" doesn't get forced when your nervous system is saying it can't handle that right now.
"I still want to lose weight though."
That won't get judged. Many people come in with weight loss hopes. Where those feelings come from gets explored, and what you need gets figured out together.
"What if I still feel shame around food?"

The uncomfortable stuff gets tackled too. The shame fear around food. The guilt about "wasting" food when textures are wrong. The internalized fatphobia. The providers who've dismissed you. All of it.
